Treefort Music Festival // Day Four

Day Four of Treefort was spent watching some of my favorite local bands kill it. If you need good music in your lives check out For the Sake of, Sheep Among Wolves, Terrible Light, Edmond Dantes, and Thick Business.

P.S. Those photos of the pour over/cold brew station is the one and only Neckar Coffee based out of Boise, ID. You need to try them out. TASTY.

Treefort Music Festival // Day One & Two

Trees and forts are two of the best things in life. And when the two come together they create something magical, mysterious, and beautiful. Treefort Music Festival is special and I was so happy to be a part of it this year as both a musician and photographer.

Here are some photos from the first two days of the festival:

Kevin Devine & The Goddamn Band @ WaterCooler 3/5

There aren't enough words in the dictionary to say how kind and talented Kevin Devine is. It was a pleasure getting to meet and shoot an In The Valley Session with him. Those two things were enough to make my day, but then I heard him play with his band later that night. They played a flawless set that will go down as one of my favorite live music experiences. With all of that being said, here are some photos from that evening.

Dads @ WaterCooler 3/5

Dads (they aren't actually dads) came through Boise with Field Mouse and Kevin Devine & The Goddamn Band last week and let me tell you, they were great. They put on a great show and were such nice people. They play such an awesome blend of music and their live show resembles that of a punk/hardcore set. If you haven't yet, check this band out.

Field Mouse @ WaterCooler 3/5

Field Mouse (Topshelf Records) came through Boise on Thursday with Dads and Kevin Devine & The Goddamn Band and played the first set at WaterCooler on 14th & Idaho St. Their music is like something I've never heard before that I liken to a blend of emo and 80's synth tunes. That may be a horrible description, but that's just what comes to mind. Along with being a great band, they are all very kind people. Hope they are back this way soon.

Fit For A King & Erra @ The Knitting Factory 2.15.15

On Sunday I had the amazing opportunity of shooting Erra, Fit For A King, Northlane, Miss May I, and August Burns Red (one of my all-time favorite bands) at The Knitting Factory here in Boise. It was my first time shooting at this venue I have to admit it was quite the challenge and a much different shooting experience than I am used to. I'm gonna be a little diverse with my editing for each band, so expect the galleries to contrast each other.

The first two galleries featuring Erra and Fit For A King are now up. Check them out here!

Axis & Drown @ Feral House // "You sold your soul, for what?"

Axis and Drown came through Boise on the 31st and pretty much demolished everything in their path. This was the craziest show I've been to since seeing The Chariot on their Farewell Tour. Being only the second show I've shot on my new camera (Sony A7s), I was a little nervous as to how the photos would turn out, but I couldn't have been happier with the results.

"My thoughts are slowly coming out loud."

Today I got to assist the Tick Tock Media Production team on a shoot. It was nice to be around such wonderful people who all love what they do (which happens to be what I love).

I was able to snap a few pictures of the crew over the course of the day and thought I would share them with everyone.

Also, the title of this blog post are lyrics from the song "Awful Things" by From Indian Lakes and they just released their music video for that song today. I highly suggest watching it.

Oh look! Here's a link to it!
