Old Gray @ VLHS

I was unsure as to whether I would ever get to see Old Gray perform live. I'm so glad that I had the opportunity a couple evenings ago. They have been one of my favorite bands for quite some time and their performance was nothing short of breathtaking.

Here's the first video from their set at VLHS in Pomona, CA. I'll be adding 2-3 more videos to this post so please check back in.

Old Gray released their highly anticipated sophomore full-length album 'Slow Burn' just two days ago on Cameron Boucher's own label, Flower Girl Records. The album sways from blisteringly heavy to destructively calm in a very unique way. If you've ever dealt with loss, depression, anxiety, or suicidal thoughts this is the album to listen to.

Listen to 'Slow Burn' here.

"I want to breathe the autumn air."

The only thing as wonderful as seeing Aviator play a packed out basement in 90 degree weather with sweat filling the air that you breathe (it was awesome, I promise) is seeing them play a stripped back version of this beautiful song the next morning. Give it a listen and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Treefort Music Festival // Day Five

Treefort Music Festival ended with a bang with help from a sea of glass, Mimicking Birds, TV on the Radio, and Hollow Wood. I can't tell you how thankful I am that I was given the opportunity to shoot the entire festival. I had the pleasure of seeing many bands that I have never seen before (and hope to see again) along with bands that I've seen multiple times, but never tire of.

Thank you Treefort Musical Festival and thank you Boise. I love you all.

Treefort Music Festival // Day Four

Day Four of Treefort was spent watching some of my favorite local bands kill it. If you need good music in your lives check out For the Sake of, Sheep Among Wolves, Terrible Light, Edmond Dantes, and Thick Business.

P.S. Those photos of the pour over/cold brew station is the one and only Neckar Coffee based out of Boise, ID. You need to try them out. TASTY.

"...now I'm a ghost of what I once was."

It felt so very surreal, although oddly natural, shooting a session with Joey of From Indian Lakes. These dudes have been playing my favorite music for years and it was so great and kind of Joey to let me record him playing a stripped down version of 'Ghost'. If you like music at all, I suggest you listen to this and check out the rest of their music.

Treefort Music Festival // Day One & Two

Trees and forts are two of the best things in life. And when the two come together they create something magical, mysterious, and beautiful. Treefort Music Festival is special and I was so happy to be a part of it this year as both a musician and photographer.

Here are some photos from the first two days of the festival:

Kevin Devine & The Goddamn Band @ WaterCooler 3/5

There aren't enough words in the dictionary to say how kind and talented Kevin Devine is. It was a pleasure getting to meet and shoot an In The Valley Session with him. Those two things were enough to make my day, but then I heard him play with his band later that night. They played a flawless set that will go down as one of my favorite live music experiences. With all of that being said, here are some photos from that evening.
